Bringing Your Brand Into the Physical World
Print and signage turn a digital brand into something customers can see, touch and experience in the real world.
From a business card to a fully illuminated shopfront, we combine graphic design, branding, print production, signage and installation to create consistent visual communication across every physical touchpoint.
Our approach considers more than appearance. We think about viewing distance, readability, materials, lighting, location, durability, production method, installation and budget.
Design → Produce → Install → Make an Impact
01. Shopfront Signage
What is it?
Shopfront signage is the main visual identification of your physical business. It normally sits above or around the entrance and communicates your business name, logo and brand identity.
It can include fascia panels, individual letters, projecting signs, illuminated logos and complete shopfront transformations.
What is the purpose?
A strong shop sign should help people:
Find you → Recognise you → Understand you → Remember you
For businesses relying on passing customers, the shopfront effectively works as a permanent advertisement.
Ideal for
Retail shops, restaurants, takeaways, cafés, barbers, salons, supermarkets, offices, clinics, estate agents, gyms and other commercial premises.
What we can provide
Fascia signs, aluminium composite trays, acrylic signs, flat-cut lettering, raised lettering, 3D letters, illuminated lettering, projecting signs, logo signs, replacement panels, shopfront rebranding and existing-sign refurbishment.
How we do it
Site Survey → Measurements → Concept → Visual Mock-up → Material Selection → Artwork → Production → Installation
Before production, the design can be shown as a realistic mock-up on your actual building so you can understand how the finished sign should look.
Estimated price
Basic fascia: from approximately £500–£1,200
Professional fascia + raised lettering: around £1,200–£3,000
Large/illuminated shopfront: approximately £2,500–£7,500+
Large supermarkets, multi-fascia buildings or complex installations can cost considerably more.
02. Illuminated Signs
What is it?
Illuminated signage incorporates lighting—usually modern LED technology—into or around the sign.
Common solutions include face-lit letters, halo-lit letters, illuminated logos, lightboxes and externally illuminated fascia signs.
Purpose
Illumination dramatically improves visibility during:
Evenings · Winter · Poor weather · Low-light conditions
It can also make a business appear more established and premium.
Face-Lit
Light shines through the front of the letters.
This creates maximum visibility and works particularly well for restaurants, takeaways and retail businesses.
Halo-Lit
LEDs illuminate the wall behind the letters, creating a glow around each character.
The result is generally more architectural and premium.
Trough Lighting
Instead of illuminating individual letters, an LED trough light illuminates the entire fascia from above or below.
This can provide a more economical solution for large signs.
Our process
Sign Design → Lighting Strategy → Letter Construction → LED Selection → Power Planning → Fabrication → Installation → Electrical Connection → Testing
Estimated price
Small illuminated sign: £700–£1,500+
Illuminated individual letters: £1,200–£3,500+
Large illuminated shop fascia: £2,500–£7,500+
Complex architectural signage: £5,000–£15,000+
Electrical work, specialist access equipment and installation conditions can affect the final price.
03. 3D & Raised Lettering
What is it?
Instead of printing your business name onto a flat board, individual letters or logos are manufactured separately and mounted onto the building.
This creates depth, shadow and a stronger architectural presence.
Materials
Depending on the project, lettering can be produced using:
Acrylic · Aluminium · Aluminium Composite · Stainless Steel · PVC · Foam · Built-Up Metal
Purpose
Raised lettering gives businesses a cleaner and more premium appearance.
It works especially well when the brand identity is minimal because the architecture itself becomes part of the design.
Options
Flat-cut letters can provide a subtle raised effect.
Built-up letters have significantly greater depth.
Letters can also be mounted away from the wall using stand-offs.
And illumination can be incorporated to create face-lit or halo-lit versions.
Estimated price
Small acrylic lettering: £250–£600+
Medium raised shop lettering: £500–£1,500+
Large fabricated letters: £1,500–£4,000+
Illuminated 3D lettering: £2,000–£6,000+
04. Window Graphics
What is it?
Window graphics transform unused glass into advertising, branding, information or privacy space.
They can cover a small section of glass or create a complete floor-to-ceiling visual installation.
Purpose
Window graphics can communicate:
Products · Services · Offers · Opening Hours · Brand Identity · Contact Information
They can also provide privacy or completely transform the appearance of an older storefront.
Options
We can produce:
Printed vinyl
Full-colour photographs and graphics.
Cut vinyl
Clean lettering, logos and shapes.
Frosted vinyl
Provides privacy while maintaining natural light.
One-way vision
Allows graphics to appear externally while retaining some visibility from inside.
Temporary promotional vinyl
Useful for seasonal campaigns, launches and special offers.
How we work
Every window is measured individually.
We then create artwork specifically around window frames, doors, handles and architectural divisions.
This prevents important information from being accidentally cut or hidden.
Estimated price
Small window graphics: £100–£300
Single large window: £200–£600
Several shopfront windows: £500–£1,500+
Complete large storefront: £1,500–£5,000+
Complex installations or upper-floor windows may require scaffolding, towers or powered access equipment.
05. Large-Format Printing
What is it?
Large-format printing produces graphics significantly larger than conventional office or commercial printing.
Think:
Window Posters · Banners · Advertising Boards · Exhibition Graphics · Construction Hoardings · Large Wall Graphics
Purpose
The objective is high-impact communication from greater viewing distances.
A 5-metre advertisement cannot simply be treated like an enlarged A4 flyer. Typography, images, spacing and hierarchy need to work differently.
Our approach
We consider:
Viewing Distance → Final Dimensions → Resolution → Material → Environment → Finishing → Installation
For example, something viewed from 20 metres away requires considerably larger typography than a poster viewed from one metre.
Materials can include
Vinyl, self-adhesive vinyl, PVC banner, mesh banner, poster paper, polypropylene, aluminium composite, Foamex and other rigid media.
Estimated price
Poster printing: £30–£100+
Large vinyl panel: £80–£250+
Banner: £60–£300+
Large commercial graphics: £300–£1,500+
Full building/window campaigns: £1,500–£10,000+
06. Posters & Promotional Print
What is it?
Promotional print is designed specifically to sell, inform or attract attention.
Unlike permanent branding, promotional graphics normally communicate a specific message.
For example:
NEW PRODUCT
20% OFF
LUNCH DEAL
GRAND OPENING
Ideal for
Restaurants, takeaways, supermarkets, barbers, salons, retail shops, events, property businesses and local campaigns.
What we design
Posters, menus, promotional boards, price displays, window campaigns, seasonal promotions, product advertisements and campaign graphics.
The design principle
Customers often give advertisements only a few seconds of attention.
Therefore we establish a clear hierarchy:
1. Attention
Strong image/headline.
2. Message
What are you offering?
3. Information
Price, details or benefits.
4. Action
Visit · Order · Call · Scan · Buy
Estimated price
Simple poster design: £75–£150
Professional promotional poster: £150–£300
Multi-poster campaign: £300–£800+
Restaurant/menu campaign: £400–£1,500+
Printing is normally calculated separately depending on quantity and material.
07. Business Print
What is it?
Business print covers the smaller physical materials customers interact with during everyday communication.
Includes
Business cards, flyers, leaflets, brochures, menus, letterheads, appointment cards, presentation folders, loyalty cards and branded stationery.
Purpose
These materials reinforce your identity outside your website and social media.
A customer should be able to see your:
Website → Shop → Business Card → Brochure → Packaging
and immediately recognise the same company.
Production considerations
We prepare professional artwork considering:
CMYK colour
Bleed
Safe margins
Image resolution
Paper stock
Paper thickness
Folding
Lamination
Finishing
Estimated prices
Business card design: £50–£150
Flyer design: £80–£200
Menu design: £150–£600+
Brochure design: £250–£1,000+
Complete business stationery package: £250–£750+
Printing is quoted according to quantity, stock and finish.
08. Vehicle Graphics
What is it?
Vehicle graphics transform cars and vans into mobile brand advertising.
Instead of paying repeatedly for advertising space, your vehicle promotes the company while travelling or parked.
What can be included?
Logo, company name, website, telephone number, services, social media, QR code and branded graphic elements.
Different levels
Simple lettering
Logo + telephone + website.
Approximately £150–£350+
Partial graphics
Larger branded areas and graphics.
Approximately £350–£900+
Extensive vehicle graphics
Large-format graphics covering significant areas.
Approximately £800–£2,000+
Full specialist wraps can cost considerably more.
Design considerations
Vehicle graphics need to work around:
Doors · Windows · Handles · Wheel Arches · Body Curves · Panel Gaps
The message also needs to be understandable quickly when the vehicle is moving.
09. Interior Branding
What is it?
Branding shouldn’t stop at the front door.
Interior branding applies the company’s visual identity throughout the physical environment.
Examples
Reception logos, wall graphics, menu boards, directional signage, acrylic panels, privacy frosting, feature walls, promotional displays and information systems.
Purpose
Interior branding creates a consistent customer journey:
See the Sign → Enter the Space → Experience the Brand
For restaurants, it can strengthen atmosphere and product presentation.
For offices and clinics, it can create professionalism and improve navigation.
For retail, it can help customers discover products and promotions.
Estimated price
Small wall logo: £150–£400
Reception sign: £300–£1,000+
Wall graphics: £250–£1,500+
Menu/display system: £300–£2,000+
Complete branded interior: £1,500–£10,000+
10. Design & Artwork Preparation
What is it?
A design appearing correctly on a computer does not automatically mean it is ready for professional production.
Production artwork needs to be technically prepared for the manufacturer.
We can prepare
Vector logos
CMYK artwork
Print-ready PDFs
Cutting paths
CNC files
Large-format artwork
Vinyl-cut files
Individual letter layouts
Window panel layouts
Installation reference drawings
We also fix existing artwork
Customers frequently provide:
- screenshots
- JPEG logos
- low-resolution images
- old PDFs
- incorrect colours
- poorly recreated logos
We can rebuild these into professional production files.
Purpose
Correct artwork helps prevent:
Pixelated printing · Incorrect colours · Wrong dimensions · Cutting errors · Misaligned panels · Production delays
Estimated price
Basic artwork preparation: £40–£100
Logo vectorisation: £50–£150
Complex production artwork: £150–£400+
Complete signage artwork package: £250–£1,000+
Survey, Installation & Access
Signage pricing isn’t determined by the sign alone.
Installation conditions can significantly affect cost.
For example, a sign installed at ground-floor level may only require ladders, while a sign several metres above the pavement could require a mobile tower, scaffold or powered access platform.
Typical additional costs might include:
Site survey: £50–£200+
Standard installation: £150–£500+
Electrical work: £150–£500+
Access equipment: £200–£800+ per day
Scaffolding: quoted according to building/access requirements
Removal of existing signage: £100–£600+
These should normally be confirmed after reviewing the site.

Installation
Instead of treating each element separately, we develop one visual system across the entire business.
A smaller shop branding package might begin around £2,000–£4,000, while a more comprehensive illuminated shopfront, windows, interior graphics and printed materials could be around £5,000–£15,000+, depending heavily on dimensions, specification and installation requirements.
How We Work
01 — Survey
We understand the location, dimensions and requirements.
02 — Measure
Accurate measurements establish the production specifications.
03 — Concept
We explore the strongest visual direction.
04 — Visualise
Realistic mock-ups show how the finished project could look.
05 — Design
Every component is developed as part of one visual system.
06 — Prepare
Professional production-ready artwork is created.
07 — Produce
Approved materials are printed, cut or fabricated.
08 — Install
The finished graphics and signage are professionally fitted.
09 — Final Check
Alignment, finish, lighting and overall presentation are reviewed.
Pricing
Every physical space is different, so final signage prices should be provided after understanding the dimensions, materials, lighting, access and installation requirements.
For the website, I would display prices as “From £…” or “Typical project £…–£…”, rather than fixed prices. This gives customers useful budget guidance without locking Medy Design into a price before the site has been surveyed.
